The Pepsi plant story

We built a really great treehouse at the laune's house. They had a great climbing tree, I think I fell out of that tree one or two times too, but that's where we built this gray tree house. And that treehouse we even built a little storage closet about 1 ft by 1 ft. We talked about all the need stuff we could put in there and keep safe. Somehow it came up in the conversation that we could put some soda in there and since the Pepsi plant is just next door to the laune's house We thought maybe we could sneak into one of the trucks at night and that would be our soda stash for our treehouse. So one night probably just after the sun set Bobby and Eric and one other kid, a young kid, I don't know who it was, ran off to steal some soda out of one of the trucks at the Pepsi plant. Me and so many other kids waited nervously at the tree house, maybe it was our job to keep things around the tree house safe though that really wasn't a real job, but there we waited and finally ...

Benjamin Glenn (Written by Kyle on January 31, 2006)

Dana gave birth yesterday, January 30, 2006 to my first nephew, Benjamin Glenn. Dana started getting contractions at 5 PM and they went to the hospital around 11 PM. Dana gave birth around 2:30 AM. Jeff called us Monday morning as excited as he could be. Benjamin has been suffering from difficult breathing and has been on a respirator. It has been difficult for Dana not being able to nurse or even hold Ben much while she is still in the hospital. We're still on edge waiting for the doctors to allow them to go home from the hospital and get this intial nervousness behind them. Hopefully home isn't far away for them.

Dan Nix

Born April 30, 1944?? Daniel Victor Nix volunteered for military service when he was about 22 years old after working for a few years after his high school graduation.  His jobs included working for a food division related to Anheiser Busch,  Upon gooing into the service, he choose a 120 days plan, which allowed him the next four months before reporting to the service and attending basic training.   Thoughts on Dad's obituary (May 1, 2022): Nanette Heath Masterson just posted on Facebook: "There is always, always, always something to be thankful for." Sure, I will be thankful for dad's life, but don't deny me my sorrow when mom and dad pass. Don't cover up my sadness with your thankfulness. I want to share in the grief that Christ is experiencing since he is not gone from this world and from our lives while we're here on Earth. It is in the mourning where I will feel closest to Him, because it is in the mourning where I can open up my heart to be close ...

Marty's 85th birthday celebration (originally posted by Kyle on August 21, 2005)

Celebrated Aunt Marty Baumer(?)'s 85th birthday today. I don't know her actual birthday. (Though her birth year is likely 1920 since we are celebrating her 85th birthday in 2005).  The celebration was at the Nazarine church on Old St. Charles Rock Rd., about one mile west of Lindbergh. Lots of family were there including Uncle Dave and Jackie Nix, Sharon Purl(?), Dan, Laura, Brook, and Blake Westhaus(?), Earnie and Sheila Floyd, Glenelle(?) and Howard Hull, and Don and wife and Missy. Along with my mom and dad and Eric. Don and wife live on a farm in Festus. Don was telling dad and me about their new lake he built with a island in the middle called Cedar Island. Sounds like his is a heck of a hard worker and the farm, as he called it, is a wonderful plot of land.
